Hard work & the successful outcome right? *UPDATE*

These past few months have been one hell of an experience with travel and life in general. I've worked on some sketches & have discovered evolution once again as a person & a woman of style. leopard walking wild

Some while back i had a dilemma on a pair of creeper shoes that i wrongly purchased. Well as soon they came in i completely fell in love with them and have made them work..check it out.

shoes of the summer (pimsoll espadrilles)

A detail frenzy is what these are. The color & the sole immediately had me hooked so i had to order them. I usually don't give out my closet resources, but if you play Eye Spy you'll definitely know where to find them. :)

Mara Hruby (the soothing sound)

Mara Hruby is someone that will forever be in my ears and i can honestly say that. Her sound is sweet and melodic and has the ability to calm anyone's life down. The Oakland, Ca native has an amazing nostalgic style which is inspired by the 40s & 50s vintage yet modernized. I highly suggest that you download her free EP
From Her Eyes & check out her website Mara Hruby & follow her on Twitter. Watch her music video "Is This Love" down below.

Jordan Brand Derek Jeter 3K Celebratory Collection

To celebrate Derek Jeter on his historic accomplishment of reaching 3,000 hits, Jordan Brand created a commemorative DJ3K collection that pays tribute to his past and present. The assortment includes a congratulatory Jeter Cut cleat, trainer, batting gloves and T-shirt. The Jeter Cut cleat, designed specifically for Jeter as he approaches 3,000 hits, features a gold Jeter logo, outsole and accents on the upper representing Jeter’s extraordinary achievement and initiation into the exclusive 3K club. The day before his first day of high school, Derek signed what would be his first of many contracts. Drafted by his father, it included various tasks and chores that would help elevate him as a ballplayer and a person. That very contract is replicated and engraved in its entirety on both sock liners and on top of the pack. The woven labels on the back of the tongues include his contract signature “I agree, Derek Jeter” as well as his high school number (13) and current number (2). The Jordan Jeter Cut trainer, Jeter’s 10th signature shoe with Jordan Brand, was created exclusively for Derek and features a maroon upper paying homage to where his career became defined—Kalamazoo Central High School. The contract sock liner and uniform numbers in the cleat are also featured in the trainer.

Tom Ford’s Five Easy Lessons to be a Modern Gentleman

Born in Austin, Texas, Tom Ford has revolution the fashion and film world through his directing, clothing and shoes, look books, eyewear, and interest in provocative imagery. In the Spring/Summer 2011 issue ofAnother Man, Ford gives the public five rules to live by if one wants to be a modern gentleman in the 21st century. Emphasizing ideals such as respect, an open mind, and hard work, Ford promotes becoming the best person one can be. (source)

1. You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.
2. A gentleman today has to work. People who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. You have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.
3. Manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. I always open doors for women, I carry their coat, I make sure that they’re walking on the inside of the street. Stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.
4. Don’t be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.
5. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.

The Roots for John Varvatos 2011 Fall/Winter Video

John Varvatos has always linked his fashion brand tightly with the musical realm – from buying the historic CBGB space on New York’s Bowery and turning it into a rock’n'roll-themed store to featuring the likes of Iggy Pop and Dave Matthews in previous ad campaigns. Bridging out a little bit from his usual suspects of aging rockers, Varvatos has recently tapped The Roots, who the designer has referred to as “one of the most innovative musical forces on the planet,” to front his 2011 Fall/Winter ad campaign. Not merely content with swathing the four-time Grammy-winning group in his trademark punk-inspired takes on luxury tailoring, Varvatos also commissioned them to perform an original track during the campaign’s shoot at Republic Airport in New York. Luckily for fans, the dope result has been chronicled on video for all to enjoy. (source)

Liu Bolin: Hiding in New York

Not content with merely camouflaging himself in front of the infamous Houston and Bowery mural, Chinese artist and photographer Liu Bolin continues his Hiding In New York series by painting himself in with the tiles at Greenwich Avenue and Seventh Avenue that were created to commemorate 9/11. Hung informally on a chain-link fence on the corner, the tiles were crafted by native New Yorkers and have remained up since being erected in 2001 shortly after the terrorist attacks. Liu played the chameleon once again by having his assistants paint an impressive suit mimicking the fence as well as his face and hands in order to achieve the shot he was looking for. Who knows where Mr. Bolin will choose for his next iconic NYC photo spot?

Lee 101 Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection

Woodsmen, dock workers, and laborers alike are the inspiration for the Lee 101 collection. Yes, workwear. It is still here. “A highlight of the collection is the Logger Jean – sturdily constructed it is fitted with extra durable and functional details such as suspenders and additional pockets, it is available in a selection of 5 finishes (2 rigid, 3 washes).” Dig in.

A Bathing Ape x Mark McNairy Capsule Collection Preview

Mark McNairy lends his skills to A Bathing Ape by creating these two shoe collaborations. The first is a chukka desert boot that features an all-over A Bathing Ape 1st yellow camo upper whilst the second is a longwing brogue that utilizes the camo in a slightly more subtle way alongside the more traditional longwing styling. McNairy has added his trademark red sole design and both models will also be made in England, as with all McNairy shoes. Although not actually part of the Mr. Bathing Ape line, they would certainly fit in with that collection as well. Due for release in the next few months at A Bathing Ape stores, the chukkas have a retail price of ¥34,440 (approximately $428 USD) whilst the longwing brogues will sell for ¥37,590 (approximately $467 USD).

Striking Sculpture Reflects Inner Struggle

Paige Bradley created one of the most striking sculptures I've seen in recent times. Her masterpiece, entitled Expansion, is a beautiful woman seeking inner piece but fractured and bleeding with light.

"From the moment we are born, the world tends to have a container already built for us to fit inside: a social security number, a gender, a race, a profession," says Bradley. "I ponder if we are more defined by the container we are in than what we are inside. Would we recognize ourselves if we could expand beyond our bodies?"

Her work is full of dichotomies: both the beautiful and the ugly, the liberated and the contained, the falling and the floating. She is always in control of form but not imprisoned by its literally. The subject matter becomes the most important -- not narrowly feminist, but rather humanistic betrayals of modern emotion.

Inaccessible Stairwell Turns into Awesome Bookshelf

What exactly are we looking at? Rather than just neglect her empty, inaccessible stairwell. designer Sallie Trout decided to make it the most interesting part of her house! She built shelves into it and then stacked her books all alongside the walls. This very innovative bookcase was built for a house in Austin, Texas that's dubbed the Jackalope Ranch. The books are made accessible by the use of a bosun’s chair that is safely fastened to a chain hoist that hangs from the ceiling. Talk about using the imagination...in everyday life!

Medievel x Vans x Hellz ‘Fvckboutins'

These Vans Hadley Lo kicks were customized with studs and other details by Medievel just for Hellz head designer, Lanie Alabanza. Post-makeover, the shoes have been deemed “Fvckboutin” (inspired obvs to some degree by Louboutins’s studded sneakers)  and they are about as sick as a shoe can be.
